Honors & Advanced Coursework
Dunstan offers a variety of honors and advanced classes.  Students interested in honors coursework must complete an application process to enroll in one or more of the offerings.  Considerations include: current grade, student interest, assessment scores (MAP and/or placement test), teacher recommendation, and other components that make up a body of evidence..  Specific criteria and deadlines for applying will be published each spring for the following year's enrollment.

Students are Involved In Building School Culture
Dunstan students have many opportunities to participate in building a positive and inclusive school culture through the creation of school-wide publications.  Student-created content gives great insight into the culture of the school.

Middle School Sports Programs
Dunstan students have several opportunities to participate in a variety of Middle School Sports Programing through the City of Lakewood.   Flag Football, Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, and more.

Designated Jeffco Healthy School
Thanks to our amazing Physical Education teacher, Ms. Leeburg, Dunstan is proud to be a Jeffco Healthy School! This means we have wellness liaisons, a wellness committee, and we implement wellness goals each year. Through our healthy schools work and the Jeffco Generations strategic model, we support wellness in our school and the connection between health and learning.

Clubs & Activities Beyond the Classroom
Dunstan's staff is invested in the success of every student!!  They know that middle school is a time of self-discovery, social growth and participation in activities that reach beyond classroom walls and academic content.  As a result, many staff members sponsor clubs and activities that happen outside of the classroom setting.

Relationship Building
Research shows that students who feel connected to trusted adults in their school are more successful both academically and socially.  Here at Dunstan, school staff members and community partners work to build relationships with students by finding ways to connect with them beyond classroom academics.  A school goall:  We want each student to be able to identify at least one (1) trusted adult in the building they could go to for support when needed.
