Volunteer

Middle school is the time to stay engaged and involved as a parent. We recognize that our parents are talented and able to give in a variety of ways. Here are some opportunities to engage with the school and show us, and more importantly your student(s), your support:

Watch Dog Parents

Dunstan welcomes all parents and/or guardians to help us with:

-Morning Crosswalk Duty (8:30 AM - 9:00 AM)
-Lunch/Recess Duty (10:25 AM - 2:00 PM)
-Afternoon Crosswalk Duty (3:45 PM - 4:15 PM)

Sign in at the main office and get a visitor’s badge and we will help you prepare & acclimate to middle school student interactions.

School Accountability

Dunstan has an active Accountability Committee and value parents who are interested in tracking our data, goals, budget, and staffing. Parents provide feedback for our principal in quarterly meetings. If you are analytical and interested in the inner workings of our school and in partnering with our principal, this is a great opportunity to provide collaboration and steering.

Positive Behavior Supports

As we continue to build our Positive Behavior Supports systems, we may include opportunities for parent volunteers. Please stay tuned for more opportunities to support our students who are making positive choices!

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Dunstan's PTA is an engaged group of parents who want to serve the needs of the students and school. PTA provides meals for conferences, Dining for Dunstan nights, PTA Reflections for students, and coordinates Colorado Gives pages for each staff member as our primary fundraiser for the school year. In the past few years PTA has purchased Mimio Boards for several classrooms, shirts for staff members, and provided meals which are a strong moral booster for our staff! We are proud of our collaboration and partnership with PTA!

Field Trips

Hardly a week goes by that our students are not out on a field trip to the variety of learning venues that the Denver metro area provides. Our students frequent the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Arvada Center, Sakoro Square in Denver, The Lakewood Cultural Center, Channel 7 News, Google, etc. We welcome parent volunteers to chaperone field trips!
