Troubleshooting Your Devices

If there is physical damage to the device, move directly to step 2.

Step 1: 
Watch the video above from Jan. 23, 2020 PTV. Then visit the Support for Devices page and follow all the steps and processes outlined on the page. (There are 5 things to try and all must be tried before moving to step 2 below.)

Step 2 (If none of the steps above solved your problem):
  1. Fill out the top section of the Repair Authorization Form (hard copies available on the board outside the Dunstan library) to the best of your ability and see Ms. Dolan in the library to get assistance. 
  2. Drop by the library to see if Ms. Dolan is available to assist you. If she isn't available, leave the device and the completed Repair Authorization Form on the counter in the library and check back at a later time.

Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)

Device Coverage

  • Purchases are non-refundable
  • Coverage is available only for Chromebooks purchased/issued through Dunstan during the 2018-2019  and 2019-2020 school years.
  • Make sure you select the correct link (based on the serial number of your device) so you access the coverage options available to your specific device.
  • You'll need both the serial number AND the model of your specific device in order to purchase this additional coverage.

Requesting a Loaner Device
Families interested in a loaner device for the 2019-2020 school year must complete a Meal Benefits Application and be approved for the program.  After receiving confirmation of approval for the program, please connect with Mrs. Wilmes in the main office with proof of approval. She will add your name to the list. 

Within 2-3 days of notifying Mrs. Wilmes (in the main office) of the approval, the qualifying student(s) will be issued a loaner device to take to and from school for the school year.  *There are a limited number of loaner devices to this is first come first serve until all loaner devices have been issued for the year. If you have questions, please contact Dunstan's main office.
Additional Information
Cell Phones:
  • Students who need to use their cell phone for any reason during class time MUST get explicit permission from a school staff member each time. If the attention of a student is on their phone, they are missing out on instruction, support, and collaboration time with others.
  • They're a great way to stay in contact with others but they cannot be used to complete classroom tasks during the instructional day. 
Discouraged Devices:

The following devices are great for personal use but, at the current time, they don't work well or at all with the various learning management systems being used to support instruction and work completion here at Dunstan.  Please leave these devices at home:
- Nook -iPad -Kindle -Nintendo DS -eReader -Playstation PSP
